FaceRoll AI
AI-powered attendance management system for educational institutions.
Problem
CHRIST Infotech was incubating FaceRoll AI, an AI-powered Attendance Management System intended to address inefficiencies in traditional attendance tracking within educational institutions. The product required coordination across multiple functional modules including authentication, biometric enrollment, AI-powered face recognition, faculty verification, analytics, and reporting. The challenge was to translate stakeholder requirements into a structured product roadmap while ensuring timely delivery within a fixed academic timeline.
Actions Taken
As Product Owner for Team 1, I owned the product lifecycle from requirements gathering through sprint execution and stakeholder communication. Working directly with the supervising professor and development team, I translated business objectives into actionable product requirements and managed delivery across four sprint cycles.
I authored user stories, acceptance criteria, and Definition of Done documentation for six major functional modules: Google OAuth authentication, biometric face enrollment, Smart Camera recognition, faculty verification workflows, analytics dashboards, and attendance export functionality.
Throughout development, I prioritised the backlog, facilitated sprint planning discussions, tracked implementation progress, managed scope decisions, and coordinated communication between stakeholders and developers. I regularly provided progress updates, demonstrated completed functionality, gathered feedback, and ensured requirements remained aligned with project objectives.
During the final sprint, I led stakeholder reporting by documenting completed features, outlining pending deliverables, coordinating testing activities, and communicating delivery readiness ahead of the project deadline.
Results
- Successfully delivered a working AI-powered attendance management platform comprising secure faculty authentication, biometric face enrollment, AI-driven classroom recognition, attendance verification workflows, analytics dashboards, and attendance export functionality
- The project progressed through four structured sprint cycles with defined deliverables and stakeholder reviews at each stage
- By the final sprint, all core product modules had been implemented and the team had entered quality assurance and testing while remaining on schedule for the planned delivery date
- The project provided a functional proof-of-concept for a SaaS product targeting educational institutions while demonstrating effective coordination between product, technical, and stakeholder requirements
